Husband Don and I were on a Summit County, Colorado, walk to find me a spot to photograph Peak 1 of the Ten Mile Range from the Widlernest area across the way.  Don was being his usual patient self and looking around our immediate area.  He saw the forest for the trees, so to speak, and said, “You might want to turn around.  There’s a picture.”  Always have your eyes ready!

These pines are now endangered by the ravages of the mountain pine beetle, no bigger than a grain of rice.  Read more about this epidemic at http://www.summitpinebeetle.org/
